Leela Pavani Velagala is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Science – Cyber Security at the University of North Texas. My research interests include cyber security risk management, cyber threat analysis, and mitigation with a focus on the healthcare industry in the US. I hold a master’s degree in cybersecurity from the University of Dallas and a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley. My professional experience includes working in the Information Security domain with Fortune 500 tech companies for about 5 years. My interest in Cyber Security led me to pursue specialized education in this field and sought out opportunities within the tech industry to enhance my practical skills in risk management and cyber threat detection. I firmly believe that effective security requires collaborative work and I enjoy sharing insights with colleagues towards fostering cyber security culture and promoting cyber hygiene.
